Thinking of Joining?

Why choose Caversham Health & Fitness?
We are an independently owned gym offering members a friendly, personal service. Our gym staff like to get to know members by name and are genuinely interested in helping you to achieve your fitness goals. We are very conveniently located in the heart of Caversham, with free parking for up to 1½ hours. If you need to stock up on supplies we have a selection of shops, including Waitrose, right on the doorstep.

Can I trial the gym before joining?
Yes, you can sign up for a 1 day pass, just click here and select the blue Free 1 day pass Button to register. 

How do I join?
You can join up online at www.clubchf.co.uk, over the phone at 0118 9484849 in person at the club. You will need your bank details and there is a short membership application form to complete including some questions about your health & fitness. 

What do I pay when I join?
You pay the pro rata for the current month to date. There is no joining fee!

When joining online does my membership begin on the day I sign up online or when I come into the gym to pay?
If you join online you can select the date that you would like your membership to start.

Can I pay a year in advance?
Yes. The longer that you pay for in advance the cheaper your membership is per month.

Am I tied into a contract?
Some promotional memberships do have a minimum contract period. If you are on normal rolling direct debit contract you may terminate your membership by email or written letter on or before 14th of the month. Your membership will end on the last day of that month.

Will you ever increase the cost of my membership?
Membership fees are reviewed from time to time. We will always give you at least 30 days written notice of any changes. 

Can I join as a joint member with a friend or relative?
Yes. If you live at the same address up to 5 people can join on a joint membership at a reduced rate.

Do you offer a student discount?
Students with a valid NUS card can join for just £25 for 4 weeks on an off peak membership. We now also offer a Student Direct Debit Membership at £25 per month.


Already a Member?

Do I need to bring my membership card each time I visit the club?
Yes, we use a card swipe entry system so you will need to bring your membership card with you. Your card also entitles you to various discounts at local Caversham Traders.

Can I put my membership on hold?
Yes, if you notify us in writing giving 2 weeks notice.

Can I bring a guest to the club?
Yes you can. A non-member can come to the club with you for a flat fee of £7 per session. We do also offer ‘pay as you go’ classes for £7 per class.

How do I refer a friend to the club?
Simply drop in to reception with your friends details or email info@clubchf.co.uk with your friend's details or Login to your Member Zone and enter your friend's details there. Plus we'll take £3 off of your monthly membership for every friend you refer.

Do members receive any discounts on beauty treatments within the gym?
Yes. Members receive a 10% discount on all beauty treatments by our in-house beauticians. This discount does not apply to the therapies which are offered by other therapists who use a therapy room at the gym.

Do I have to pay extra for fitness assessments/programmes?
No, all fitness assessments, member reviews and fitness programmes are included in your membership fee. (Limited to one per month)

Are all the classes free?
Most of the classes in our busy timetable are free for members. We do occasionally put on specialist classes such as pre-natal yoga, for which there is an additional charge.

Do I need to book to attend a class?
Some of the more popular classes get booked up very quickly. As a member you can book up to 2 days before the class either online in your ‘Member Zone’ or by calling reception on 0118 948 4849.

Are there any changing facilities at the club?
Yes, we have showers and changing rooms with lockers. You are required to bring your own padlock for use with the lockers. Lockers are provided for use while you are in the gym and any lockers left locked overnight will be opened and the contents removed.

How do I cancel my membership?
Pre-paid and promotional memberships may be subject to a minimum term. Direct debit memberships can be cancelled by email or by letter before the 14th of the month. The membership will end on the last day of that month.
